some corn field in central il.
i have 2 roos (11 weeks old), 1 lakenvelder (he was the free chick from mcmurray hachery) and a dorking, who i ordered for the same reason anyone orders one, the name! anyway... the lakenvelder has been crowing now for almost 2 weeks, but the "dork" only manages to get out a strangled "gaaaack" every once in a blue moon. could it be that the dork is afraid to crow because the lakenvelder has beat him to the punch and has already become "top dog"? or maybe he's just a late bloomer. any thoughts? thanx.

Late bloomer.

Is that you I see out in the corn field behind my house?

Could be either or both. Dorkings are know to be pretty docile.

Pretty directly West of Peoria, half way between Peoria and Galesburg, edge of Peoria County.
I always perk up when I see "Central Illinois". Howdy!

It is really early with your roos, so I wouldn't be too concerned about the crowing... I'm sticking with late bloomer.
