This morning, the auto coop door opened, chickens came out and a crow walked up the ramp into the coop. It left and soon came back with it's mate. They both walked up the ramp and into the coop like they owned the place.
Is this a good thing? Will crows protect or warn the flock from other threats like hawks or eagles?
Aside from them eating chicken feed, is this a bad thing? Will they break and eat eggs?

Crows will steal eggs, I watched them destroy a pigeon nest near my house the other day. You don’t want wild birds residing in your coop, they carry lice and can carry diseases. I’d make sure they fly off and don’t come back.

Crows used to hang around and look for eggs that may have gotten layed on the ground in the pens. I covered all of the pens with heavy duty netting to keep out hawks and owls and anything else that may want to jump over the fence. Many years ago I had a coyote jump over a 5' fence and it killed some birds. It did jump back out. I don't mind the crows because they do chase hawks off that come around. I have a special spot where I put out undesirable eggs and treats for the crows. When they see me out at their spot they come to check things out.
