I am so furious and upset I have to ask has this happened to anyone else? 2 crows having been hangiong around my run for about a week cos of corn left by the chickens. Today my other young Khaki campbell was really shouting and when I went down its sister was dead in the run - eye out and neck eaten. This could only have been the crows. My husband will now shoot these 2 - he has been reluctant in case they have young but if he doesn't do it then I will!
Has anyone else experienced this? We have had a goshawk attack in the past but never crows. I hate the *****!!
We live in Wales, Uk. Not sure if crows are a nuisance where most of you people seem to be from.

I always shoot at the crow when they are in my yard. Not only can they spread disease they can take baby chicks and probably did do that to your duck. I say shoot at them, even its a pellet gun, it will scare them off.

Thanks for your replies - my husband is not home from work yet - he will be greeted with the gun and pellets ready to go. No meal for him until the crows are sorted!!

The latest is - 1 crow hit and 1 magpie killed. He will try at breakfast again cos they are always around then. Meeanwhile I drove an hour to the breeder and returned with another white khaki who is now making friends with the survivor. fingers crossed all will be well!!!

Soooo very sorry.

For the record, I hate crows too..they totally tick me off eating my bird food..big bullies

Thanks for the sympathy - much appreciated. My husband has gone to work after no success waiting for an hour to shoot at the crows. Now there are 4 sitting in the cherry tree in the orchard - did they wait for his van to drive away? I know they are clever but this is ridiculous!! He will come home at lunchtime and try again. the ducks are happy with each other and the new one is a big bird so hopefully we will not have any more drama!!

there area allot worse things than crows the crows here do not land in my yard but keep my arch enemy the hawks far off from the chickens. I actually am thankful for the crows I would probably shoot them if they started coming to close and I had baby chicks. I am sorry they went after your ducks I wish you good luck in your hunt !

Thanks, Henry. I am sure that amost animals have a purpose and if hawks were a problem then I would feel like you about the crows. Here in Wales we have a lot of red kites that fly over us and are lovely to see. the goshawk is a problem but luckily one has not been seen around our village for a couple of years. So......the crows are my major worry. All is quiet as I write so I hope it remains so!!

I hear the crows now they sure are loud I am a good enough shot to take them if only I had a gun

I hope they either don't come back or that you get them when they do good luck!
