If all these eggs hatch with my sanity still in place i will be greatly suprised.

Okay so I moved the first 5 chicks to the brooder and they are doing wonderful.. instantly started eating and drinking and are now napping.

BUT when I took them out I saw NO pips... I looked very closely or as well as I could with a flashlight through the window in the incubator.

I just came in and looked again.. and saw nothing so I reached in quickly to grap a couple hatched eggs. Bumped an egg and AAAAA IT PEEPED AT ME. then I noticed a tiny peep hole. Please tell me I did not harm him.. please please please. The humidity dropped to 54% but quickly almost instantly jumped back up to 65%

Is he okay? I did squirt a mist of warm water over the egg.. not enought to make the egg or even look like it had any moisture on it.

about 3 seconds
and I did not open it all the way I just lifted up a corner and slid my hand in

you should be fine! as long as you reconstituted for the moisture lost your chick should turn out perfectly ok... have you checked on the egg again? is it making any more progress?

It has not progressed anymore but I did here a peep or two earlier. I had one yesterday that pipped at about 9 AM but didnt finally get down to business and start working on hatching till about 3PM... so I am hopeful he is fine.

He should be fine. Don't worry

He is doing wonderful.. he is now down in the brooder with the "brat pack". I posted pics of him and the others but here is one of him.

I am too.... I did have to assist him a bit. I just took off a few small pieces of egg from the top and when the top started to crumble I put him back down to hatch on his own. He just needed a halping hand. :)
