crumbles to pellets

How old should they be before they can eat pellets?

are they on the ground?do they have access to grit?we feed crumbles until they are getting ready to start laying but that is only because we cant get starter pellets,if you can then really the sooner the better as far as waste goes.they sure do waste a lot of the crumbles,the ones on pellets not so much.

layer or starter pellets?? I start mine on starter/grower crumbles until they are 17-18 weeks and then turn them on to layer pellets...

Thanks for the replies. I have three about 14 weeks old. I did not want to buy another bag of crumbles, I just stopped the crumbles and they are eating the pellets fine.
