Hi all!!
I wanted to ask what is better for feed with ducks...pellets or crumbles

Thanks in advance!!

Tracey

I used crumbles for ducklings but switched to pellets for ducks because it it didn't end up as a squishy lump in the food bowl every morning. The pellets get a little lumpy but not to the extent as crumbles. Some people say crumbles can choke ducks because of their consistency (never seen it myself).

My ducks will eat the chickens' crumble just fine, however. Main reason is it's easier (for me) to clean out the pellets. :)

My ducks swallow everything from *whole snails to cubic inch chunks of zucchini. I want to know who had a duck choke on pellets.

After the ducklings are two weeks old, I switch from crumbles to pellets. The bigger ducks seem to have an easier time swallowing pellets, and as previously mentioned, they make less of a mess.

Crumble is really just smashed pellets. The benefits of a Raiser is the nutritional content, not necessarily the form of the feed.
