We have 4 hens. One of them always lays mangled eggs. They have very thin shells and they look kind of like crumpled up tissues. She eats the best layer food we can find in our city and we give the chickens our fresh fruit and veggie scraps every day. We also supplement with grit and oyster shells. All the other hens lay normal eggs. We've also done a vent check in the past but it didn't shed any light on the subject. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Some hens have problems with their shell gland, especially as they get older. If the rest of the hens are laying normal eggs and it sounds like you have them on a decent diet etc, it is probably just a problem with her. There really doesn't seem to be much you can do about it that works longterm, sometimes giving the problem bird some extra calcium seems to help.
