Cry of death

I have hatched a lot of ducklings and there r sometimes where we have a duckling that will cry nonstop for 1 to 2 days and out of no where just die on me. Every time I hear that cry I kno it's just a matter of time before that baby is going to pass away. Why is this happening

Maybe it's in pain, I really don't know. Thank the Lord I haven't had that happen. .
