Crying/sick chick

We just got her yesterday. All she does is run around the brooder crying, eyes half open. She had pasty butt but I cleaned that. She doesn’t seem to be eating. I made mush for her and dipped her beak in but nothing. She stumbles around drunk. Should I be worried? Is it jet lag? Should I separate her? What do I need to do if anything?

Seems normal to me, the only thing i could guess is that her muffs are getting in the way of her eyes. I had a half blind chick that did that because he couldn't see well.

Just wondered if she had hatched with a clutch, and missed her "mom" or a nest mate. Sorry I wasn't more help.

Update! She was crying and running around because she is completely deaf and partially blind. She is still crazy but happy. You should see her run with a mouse. It’s hilarious. When it swings in her eyesight she does a midair karate kick because she can’t tell what it is.

Poor bean! I just saw this post and was gonna comment that maybe she’s just one of those babies who needs extra love and handling . Sounds like she’s doing well, though!

Next time she gets a mouse I’ll post a video. It’s pretty funny. She’s not blind but if she was a person she would be legally blind.
