Hi All,
So i recently purchased some eggs off ebay and they arrived on Thursday 30th in the post. Unfortunately on candling most of them looed like they had porous shells. I have read on the forum that porous shell hatching egs usually don't give a good result, but i am determined to proceed as the seller confirmed that he had a good hatch rate with the same eggs.
However he also mentioned that he 'soaks and wipes' eggs before posting to ensure that there are no cracks.
Upon placing the eggs in the incubator this morning, i have now noticed one of the eggs has a few 'crystals' that have formed on the shell. (Please take a look at the attachec picture)
I am not sure if this is due to the excessive porousness of the shell or some other impending issue that could impact my hatch ?
What do you guys advise in this situation ?
