Marek's Disease Virus (MDV) is classified as a Herpes virus 2 (Gallid alphaherpesvirus 2) (GaHV-2).

Herpes Simplex Type 2 is a sextually transmittled disease in humans. It is not the same thing as GaHV-2.

POULTRY AND FARM PREMISE SANITATION:
SITE PREPARATION
The first step in any ongoing sanitation program should be the removal of gross contamination and debris. This may be accomplished using a shovel, broom, or vacuum depending on the area to be sanitized. The efficacy of even the most efficient germicidal cleaner is reduced in the presence of visible organic matter. Once the debris is eliminated, sanitation can be accomplished easily.
CLEANING AND SANITIZING
For general cleaning and sanitizing, use 5 oz. per gallon of water. Apply OdoBan® use-solution using a cloth, mop, or coarse spray to thoroughly wet surface to be sanitized. Allow to remain wet for 60 seconds and let air dry. A precleaning step is required. Prepare a fresh solution after each use.
APPLICATION AND USE DILUTION
Before Use: Remove all animals and feeds from premises, trucks, coops and crates. Remove all litter, droppings and manure from floors, walls and surfaces of facilities occupied or traversed by animals. Empty all troughs, racks and other feeding and watering appliances. Thoroughly clean surfaces with soap or detergent and rinse with water.
How to Mix and Apply: Use 5 oz. of OdoBan® per gallon of water. Saturate surfaces with the use-solution for a period of 60 seconds.
Ventilate buildings, coops and other enclosed spaces. Do not house animals or employ equipment until treatment has been absorbed, set, or dried. Thoroughly scrub treated feed racks, troughs, automatic feeders, fountains and waterers with soap or detergent and rinse with potable water before reuse.
Immerse all halters, ropes and types of equipment used in handling and restraining animals, as well as forks, shovels and scrapers used for removing litter and manure in use-solution for 60 seconds.
HATCHERIES: Use 5 oz. of OdoBan® per gallon of water to treat hatchers, setters, trays, racks, carts, sexing tables, delivery trucks and other hard surfaces. Leave all treated surfaces exposed to solution for 60 seconds or more.

(Not for use in California.)

An STD is not the same thing as Marek's disease.

Odoban is used as a Sanitizer by poultry houses and hatcheries, so it fits with what the OP has as end of the incubation season to-do's. It's a great sanitizer.

If Odoban kills any form of the Herpes virus it doesn't matter if its an STD or Mareks, Odoban claims it kills the Simplex version of Herpes.

It's confusing, I get it, but gallid herpesvirus 2 and herpes simplex type 2 are not the same thing.

The number 2 may be confusing you and making you think it is the same.


Odoban does not kill Marek's disease virus.
I went as far as emailing OdoBan and asking them.
