CT Chicken Stock. Summer 2009

Well Im in Stamford CT, which might be a little south for most people, but I think I can get this huge room in the firehouse that they let the community use.
Tomorrow is my meetup and Im gonna see how that goes, but I will ask the fire chief if its possible. Is it best to do it on a weekend?...and how many hours would we need the facility?
They do have BBQ grills and a full kitchen, and they have lots of tables and chairs. There is a fee but he usually sets it as a nominal amount liek $50.
Ill ask him.

The question is, am I too far south, or do people tend to travel for these things?
Id love to have a big chicken swapmeet.

Well, Ill find out from the guys up at the firehouse whats involved in using the community room...if its OK to do something like that there. There is a huge indoor room that is used for meetings and classes, and also a huge garden.
I started my meetup today, and it was small, but the newspaper and photographer were there, so it will definitely grow!
Ill let you know what I find out...I think it can be done here...

Hi friends,

Long time no see. I'm looking for someone to take two chickens off my hands. I've been trying to do the indoor chicken thing and I just don't want to clean as often as i have to with them in the house! I'm offering them here first 'cause at least we've met. Hopefully some of you are still checking old posts!! What I would like to give away: 1 awesome personality buckeye, currently laying; 1 juvenile mix--papa is a blk jers giant, mama probably a delaware going by its blk and white pattern (looks kind of like a dominique). I'm not sure yet of the sex of the juvenile, though when i post a pic i'm sure some of you can immediately tell what it is. The juvenile definitely has papa's feet, they're huge!! hope one of you can take them!!
