CT Chicken Stock. Summer 2009

Well, Im having a meetup, but it may be a little south for you all...youre welcomed to join and try to come to one anyway.
How much room do you need for a chickenstock? How many people usually come?
I have a pretty big place, but as I said, it may be a little south.
check the group out anyway....http://www.meetup.com/Southern-CT-Westchester-Backyard-Poultry-Group/

Count me in! I live in Stratford, so it will be easy to get there. I'm still new at this (only have been doing this for a year) and have so much to learn!

Just checked in to see what's doing with chickenstock...also one of the easter eggers I got at May chickenstock has turned out to be a rooster. already have 2 roos so if anyone's interested Mr. Easter is up for grabs.

Hey CT!! Come to my meetup or at least join the group!
Audubon of Greenwich has asked us to have a booth at their Sept Hawk weekend...which seems sorta counterintuitive, but the theme is green living and the promotions man believes in backyard chickens....so join us and help plan what to do for Hawk Weekend!! He welcomed us to sell eggs and birds, but I need to know the legalities of that....
and Ill probably do something on the predatory relationship there, but the two can coexist...right?
Im looking for any and all ideas foe this booth...kid friendly and chicken promotional...and hawk deterring!!

Yeah, I don't know about hosting anymore. i'm getting worse with crowds of people. it's lame, i know. i miss you all though!!

what is involved in hosting? Do you need a big space?...are there laws about selling eggs and/or birds in CT. Does one need a license?

Don't feel bad. I'm the same way. I love visiting with everyone but the thought of hosting gives me hives.

we had 2 chickenstocks at my house in Oxford; the first one I'm guessing we had 25 people and wouldn't have required much space, the second there were more like 50 and lots of cars to park.

we traded, bought and sold eggs and birds all without a license. MNC and Henrietta, it's fun to host and you don't even have to cook, just let everyone else bring food. maybe if it was a small group?
