I'm in love with these birds. They're very beautiful and quite inquisitive. I just happened to luck out in getting them too, because I bought them from the straight run bin at Atwoods. They were much smaller than the regular straight run chicks; I and the lady in Farm and Ranch thought they might have been bantams that were accidentally mixed in. They are approximately 7 months old at this time.

My pullets: One is blue and the other is white.

My roosters: Black Breasted Reds

they are such a sweet bird and if you still think they are bantams don't for it take almost two to three years for them to fully develope and grow. so don't worry as well they are a amazing breed that i hope i can one day convince my mom to let me have for a rooster. they are very smart and are great with other birds and people

MJ: They are sweet and fun to watch. I've never seen them outright attack (I've seen posts regarding that on here) any of my other chickens, but they will play up to a challenge (pullets too!). Mine don't like to be held, but will allow you to stroke their necks and breast area. One of my roosters even flew up and landed on my shoulder once!

Elderoo: Cool! I'll have to keep an eye out for it.

I think the local farm & ranch stores have issues available.

wclawrence: Sounds like a good deal. Look forward to talking with you!

Chickngurl,
I was wrong in the email I sent you about the blue.
Both of those hens probably have blue. You dont need to outcross at all to have blue in your chicks. But they are wheaten for sure.

And they are BEAUTIFUL!
