I have a connection to pick up some of this breed and don't know about them. What can you tell me about this bird. I have my first flock of hens that are about 8 months old am thinking of adding to them. The birds available are 4 months old. Are these hardy birds, good egg layers, what color eggs? Do well in all climates??? Four seasons where we live out west. Do I need to keep them separated in a separate pen for a while before introducing to existing girls? If so, how long until I can turn them loose? What does this breed look like? Thanks for all the answers.
Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do.
