Hello! I was just wondering if it would be okay to leave my 8-month-old brahmas chicken out in the winter? I have them in a chicken run that has an enclosed chicken coop inside of the run. I know that are supposed to be a good winter hardy breed. Just wondering what your thoughts were. Thank you!

Mine did perfectly fine in winter snow.

From what I have read, aside from windbreaks, it can be useful to save your leaf litter from autumn so you can spread that on the snow for them to stand on, and have walking paths.

If they have a dry, draft-free place to sleep, and a weather protected place to hang out during the day (like your chicken run), then yes! I wouldn't lock them outside in the snow, but you can shovel some paths and give them the option to venture out.
Thank-you!
