Up for auction is 1 dozen Cuckoo marans eggs + some extras!

I have 3 roosters over a dozen+ hens (some to be sold, so unsure yet lol). I'm getting over a dozen eggs a day, so expect eggs to be 1 day old, 2 days tops!

However, I do have 2 Australorp hens, 1 Barred rock hen, 1 Bantam hen + 2 Black Spanish hens in there!
I can do a pretty good job at telling eggs apart, but just in case, I will throw in 3 EXTRA eggs!

Shipping is $15!

Start the biddings! RAWR!!!

My Marans are just starting to feather in and it wasn't until I looked at all 4 of them today that I realized that I didn't have 4 BCM like I thought, but 3 BCM and 1 Cuckoo. I am praying it's a pullet! When I have more money I'll have to see about doing a dozen Marans eggs from you, with half being BCM and half Cuckoo. I'm looking forward to crossing my Silver Cuckoo roo over a Cuckoo hen to try to get Silver chicks. I love the Silver color! And of course, I'll need more BCM because 3 is simply NOT enough, lol.

on the marans scale, what color would you say these are?

Right now, they're at 2-3, during earlier in the season, they're usually at 4, sometimes 5.
I have black copper marans that hit the 5-7 scale lol

Let me know if you want any!

Oh no no no, lol, maybe the color chart in my head looks different LOL
Anyways, will get a picture when I do not have slow dial-up out here at the farm and am back in town.

Anyone out there have any pictures of Cuckoo marans I've sent them? LOL

They're not AS dark as my Black Copper Marans, even on a good season, but they're of terra cotta similar to a Welsummers on a good day (think warm mocha or cocoa powder).
HOWEVER when it's later in the season and egg colors lighten up, they're a little darker than let's say an australorps eggs. lol

Egg coloration is really hard to explain, will get recent photos tomorrow haha

Alrighty, these are the Black Copper Marans in the later season...
Quite much lighter than in earlier in the season:

They have no interest in me whatsoever when I give them salad lol
This is sort of the earliest picture I have of their earliest eggs:

Cuckoo Marans:
Later in the season of last year...
The two lowest bottom eggs are Black Copper Marans
the white one is... well, a white egg layers. The lightest brown on top is an Australorp's about the color the Marans eggs are now (Cuckoos)
and the in between are the Cuckoo Marans, still later in the season.

I was just never smart enough to actually get pictures

lol had too many eggs roll off the table LOL

Terrible picture but...

It's hard to deciper, but the lowest bottom eggs are BCMs, the rest are either Cuckoos or other such mixes. The second medium dark brown lol

those aren't bad for late in the season.
now to make some room.
