Cuckoo Lav. Orpington and Gang

You're Very Welcome.
Sounds like your all set...
...subtraction is a very important and maybe most difficult part of chicken math.
Where are you located?

Good point. I'm located in Georgia; close to North Carolina. I would be up for selling some chicks to help with costs. This is my first year and i'm definitely in the red. Which I fully expect to be because it's for fun and food.

I believe that @aart , is correct. The buff is presently subordinate to probably all of the roosters that were in the flock. Some information indicates that dominant roosters cause lower testosterone levels in the subordinates. My gut says that as he matures, and as day length increases (another factor impacting testosterone levels) he will start breeding the hens and you will end up with a bunch of his chicks.

Yes. That does make a lot of sense. I believe i will separate the buff roo with one of the less desirable hens in their own smaller pen while i collect eggs from my preferred birds.
