Cuckoo Maran? Barred Rock? What is this chick? :)

That's no barred rock, wrong comb, wrong beak, can't see leg color but betting it isn't yellow.

Can you tell us what color the legs are because the beak is white, looks like.
If that comb is a rose comb like it seems, you have a Dominique. Can't see the legs, but they should be yellow if it is. Now, some folks cross them and they would probably have a rose comb if a cross as well because that is a dominant trait. If a hatchery chick, then I'd say pure Dom. The beak seems white, though. That usually means Cuckoo Marans.

Then seems that you may have a Cuckoo Marans/Dom cross, if that is indeed a rose comb. White skin is dominant, as is rose comb.

Birds from a hatchery are never guarenteed to be full blood. They are something like a good representation of the breed. It is not uncommon for chicks that come from a hatchery to have wrong combs, random color feathers pop, or various other random traits. Thats why many of us suggest going to a breeder if you are looking for specific breeds.

Yes don't be too set on getting a pure bred from a hatchery. We ordered a blue andalasion and cuckoo marans and got a pheonix! Oh and something else we don't know but ordered a white leghorn. Now I'm waiting to see what my order of straight run (no other choice) of silkies and frizzles turn out to be cockerels.
