Cuckoo Maran laying soft shelled off roost

I have two cuckoo marans. Last night they both layed a soft shell egg off of their roost. We have had them lay off of the roost a couple of times before, leading to a busted egg. What can I do to get them to stop laying off of the roost at night?

Good question! I have 2 someones doing the same thing! Most are figuring out the nesting box situation. Hopefully, the 2 will figure it out on their own. Any strategies would be welcome.

You can't stop them dropping the softies whilst roosting, but there are a few things that will change th if they are laying normally formed eggs from the perch. To find out what needs to change you need to work out why it's happening. 90% of the time it's coop design or bullying.
