Cuckoo maran suspected male

This guy is a feed store pullet purchase bought march 31. Estimate about 7 weeks old... please confirm male or female I have been told his color is to dark for male. But he has waddles now too.

This picture was at about 4 weeks old (blue coat for mild comb injury) notice how big the comb was?

The comb does look pretty red for seven weeks. I know going by feather color is not 100% accurate, may have to wait a few more weeks. What's the tail looking like?

His tail is decent, maybe a little less full then the others but his is my only cuckoo so i don't have much to compair too. I don't normally judge on feathering this early. But his comb has been looking male to me since 2 weeks... I have other pullets with larger combs but none are red or even pink yet

I think you're right, he looks like a cockerel to me.

I am with Diva on this one but give it a couple weeks awful young may still lay an egg
