So after more reading and learning I have figured out I titled by thread backwards. It should’ve been EE Rooster x Cuckoo Marans hen.
As I only have EE Roos

Same effect. If possible, choose the male who hatched from the deepest blue egg.

Possible bonus -- if your EE roosters are not barred, any chicks hatched from them x a Cuckoo Marans will be sexlinked. The males will have a headspot and be barred while the females won't.

I don’t believe they are barred so I guess next fall when Marans start laying I will hatch some and see. I unfortunately don’t know what color older we Roo came from and I believe the younger Roo hatched from a pale blue egg. This was the young rooster at one day
