Cuckoo Marans is laying egg with white coating

hi guys. i have a girl who just started laying a couple weeks ago. she's a Silver Cuckoo Marans and i LOVE her! her egg color is strange though. after she takes a day or 2 off from laying, her next egg has a whitish coating over it. it really looks like a tinted egg. but the deep brown IS underneath. the next day if she lays an egg it's a medium pretty brown. what is that coating?? i know ALL eggs have a coating over it that u don't wanna wash off.....i know that coating is even on her pretty brown eggs. but why does her 1st egg after a day off have a visable whitish coating?

I used to have cuckoo marans as well and had one that would lay an egg with the white coating about halfway down the egg...then it would even out to it's regular chocolate color. I never knew what caused it.
