Cuckoo Marans ROOSTER hatched.

OK, there is a definite color diffence in the 5th chick to hatch. I will have a picture as soon as it is dry and in with the other chicks to show the difference. I've been trying for 2 days to turn one of the pullets into a roo!

There is a lot of color variation in new chicks, it isn't until they start getting in their feathers that you can tell a roo by coloration.

NOPE, cuckoo marans can be sexed as fluffy chicks. The rooster is a definite light grey and pullets are dark. No doubt about it!
