Cuckoo old english

I went to a local county fair today, and came home with a chicken!
Wasn't planning on buying any since I didn't even know they sold them there!
Anyway, I bought a "Cuckoo Old English hen" as the card states.
I know nothing about this breed, other than she is super cute and super tame!
She also won firts place in her class.
Can anyone tell me more about this breed good and or bad?

And I dont' know much about chicken shows, so if anyone can tell me what this means:
division:628
Class:2

I am assuming that is her breed and approximate age for the entry??

The owner wasn't there, so I wasn't able to get any info.
I was told she is a 4-H chicken.

I believe the Division is the section of the show (e.g. Baking, or Poultry, or Sewing etc.) The class is the particular competition she is entered in.

I know nothing about showing but I do know something about old english game. My hens were very sweet, loved to get out and freerange and were very self sufficent. They are good flyers so if you do let her out wait until she knows where home is and watch for her trying to roost in a tree. Their laying abilities can vary but I always got 4-7 eggs a week except in winter. They will definately go broody if you leave them with eggs and generally make great moms.

I will clip all my chickens wings before I let them freerange outside of the run.
I don't want any misshaps!
Should I do both wings or just one side?

I wish I knew her age, but I am guessing she is in the 6 month range.
Hasn't laid an egg yet, but she has only been here 24 hours!

Congrats on the new girl!!!
My OEG hen is very sweet and flies up to perch on my shoulder. I don't know anything about clipping chicken wings. I'm assuming it's the same as house birds. I've always done both sides on my parrots that get trimmed. I've heard clipping one side makes them off balance and results in a bad crash landing.

I've never clipped chicken wings either but I'd probably do both sides for balance. I think you'll really enjoy having her and cuckoo is such a pretty color she'll look great in the run.
