It's part of USDA's regulations on importing birds and eggs from out of the country. *Sigh* Don't get me started.

There is no "process" the government has shut it down. Nope not happening. No imported live birds or eggs anymore.

I just called the USDA a week ago and they said I could import eggs from the UK if I had a permit ($135) Only lets you have 1 shipment and they would have to have a health certificate and to fill out a form online for the permit. They said nothing about it being shut down. I just decided not to due to the high cost and probability that the eggs would not hatch.

I believe the breeder in the UK has to be inspected. Many times the UK breeders will not sell cause of these inspections.
You can make your own with a Cuckoo Wyandotte and a Black Orp.

They have to come from inspected/approved facilities and my understanding is they still have to be quarentined(sp) as well. By then, your eggs would no longer be viable.
