Has anyone breed a cuckoo marans and a barred rock?

They are both barred breeds, so the chicks would all be barred.

Agreed; they would also all have single combs since both breeds have single combs.

The cuckoo pattern will muddle up the barred patterns. Mine turned out very pretty. And they were great layers, although the eggs were not much darker than the barred rocks eggs.

Eola. Do you have a picture? Was the skin yellow or white?

I have barred rock hens, and a cuckoo rooster if it makes a difference for breeding.

I don't know if I ever noticed the skin color. I sold all the cockerels at 3 days of age to an Hispanic family to butcher. The hens I sold when I moved.
