Cull cockerels

I have egg layers but of course some of my straight run turned out to be cockerels. I have 4 barred rocks currently 7 weeks old. What age would be the best time to cull them to get the best quality/ quantity meat.

Cockerels will be fully grown in 5-6 months, so you might want to slaughter a little before that age.

Wow, 5-6 months? I can see why Crosses are so popular, 2 months is all it takes. Red Rangers-- three months.
