I just culled my dear chicken, Wonky. How do I deal with the guilt of ending her life although it was necessary?

:hugs its ok you did it to help her right? She wouldve suffered without it... Just think, shes no longer in pain..

Sometimes, the hardest thing for us is the best thing for our animals. It's not easy to end the life of an animal, but if it was suffering you did the very best thing for it. Remember that she had a good life with you, and is no longer in pain. We had to put down our 10-year old lab last year (and by "we" I mean my hubby, and he was kind enough to wait until I'd left for a week. I spent two hours the night before I left sitting in the garage, petting my dog and crying because I knew it was time.) and although it was heart-breaking we knew it had to be done. It's cruel to let an animal drag on and on instead of end its suffering.
