When a diseased or dying chicken in your flock must be culled, by which means do you do it?

I agree...even though it's the last thing we want to do!

Here's a link to a posting regarding euthanasia guidelines. It's got a listing of euthanasia methods, their pros and cons, the impact on the patient and the administrator, and then rates each method. It's a highly informative read.

I use cervical dislocation by either snapping the neck or removing the head.

Sorry you have to do this. Good luck.

I am a total wimp and take it to the vet for euthanizing, thankfully only had to do it once, but I could Never do it myself

I killed my first sick hen about a week ago. I covered her head with a little sock, wrapped her in a towel, paced her neck through the 2 nails on the board, and then chopped her head off with a hand ax. It was very fast. The anticipation/fear before doing it was far worse than the actrual deed. It took me weeks to get up the nerve to do it.

I like how you seid it better. I alwasy make sure the head comes off so I know the chicken is gone.
