Culpeper Poultry Sale?

Powhatan is a bit far for us to go, the only reason we are going to the Culpeper sale is because it is closer by and we go there for the 4-H fair, so we know where it is located. I hate directs! lol.

Where is Hexler's Farm? I've been to the Fredericksburg and Culpepper auctions and they are good. Any and all types of birds- I got three beautiful little Sultans and some guineas in Fburg. They had geese, turkeys all kinds of chicks ; guineas, goats... you name it!

Once you've attended they'll call you every week and say when and where the auction will be. This weekend it's in Woodstock VA out towards WVA. Starts at 7am to accept animals, and auction starts at 10am I think....

The day I was there they tested all the birds for avian flu and all that, and I quarantined mine til I heard the all clear from them. It's a really nice auction to attend.

Has anyone been to this to purchase chicks? We just moved here and I would like to get started on the chicks now rather than wait for the CFC to bring them in after Easter. We only need about 12 chicks at most and I'm not sure if this auction is the way to go. Any helpful ideas out there? Thanks.
