Cups or Nipples?

I am going to replace my flock's water bowl with an automatic system via bucket, float valve, and hose. I am deliberating whether I should use nipples or cups. Anyone have experience with one or both of these, pros cons?

Do you live where it freezes? The water in cups can freeze but the nipples in my heated bucket have never frozen and I live in Ohio.

I used cups, which I LOVE. They will get a littke green sonetines. But a quick dish brush gets it ckean....But switching the covey to nipples as I secured a heated waterer from Amazon. Impossible to keep the cups from freezing here in Canada.
