Just to add to my review, I just started my 3 week BCM on the horizontal nipples because I put them in a brooder in the chicken tractor this morning. I tapped the nipple to get some water out then put their beaks to the nipples so they knew there was water there. It took about 15 min for them to get the hang of it.
After thinking about it, I decided to put a their regular bottle waterer out there also so they wouldn’t have to work to get water (95 degrees here). I checked on them later in the day, and to my surprise, they are drinking from the nipples not the waterer they were used too. I always assumed that chickens would go back to drinking free style if given the opportunity but not these chicks.
