So the other day my cat came to me with a foxtail in her eye. I was able to pull it out of her eye socket and is showing no signs of infection.

I was curious if there are other people out there that takes care of their other animals in a medical way as I have had a hard time looking up at home medical care for my dogs and cat. They all do their annual vet check up but I prefer to take certain matters like rashes and cuts and deal with them myself.

Whether you do or not, what is your reasoning?

because i'm a teen and don't have a very well paying, steady job, i definitely prefer treating them myself, unless it is a major thing that i have no clue about. Even when i do take them to the vet, i get the chance to learn about that thing i didn't know about and can handle it better next time :)

One of my cats really does not take good care of himself, and gets into trouble all the time and if i took him to the vet every time he hurt himself, I would be broke. Despite being annoying, he's my favorite cat :)

Thanks for the posts. I enjoy having my animals and when I had to take my little dog due to something up her nose to the vet she was extremely stressed out and was a little terror. It makes it more difficult to get her to do anything when she gets like that.

But the cats eye is back to normal and is still looking great. She has returned to lounging around the yard and being my cuddle bug again!
