i have 9 ducklings in a smaller separate enclosure from my other adult ducks, while out in my garden yesterday trying to get more seeds in the ground, we are so far behind this year with the garden, weather was not cooperating. anyway i hear my lil ones squawking, so i go and check and theres my neighbors adult khaki campbell hen near them at the fence what looked like trying to bite at them through the fence, i thought at first it was one of mine out, but all of mine were in there enclosure accounted for, so it had to be the neighbors after taking some xtra chicken wire i was able to catch her and put her in a cat carrier and return her. so was she just curious and heard the lil ones and wanted to see what it was or is she possibly a bit aggressive. i plan to put my lil ones in with they adults once there bigger right now there still eating unmedicated chick starter.

Hard to say, my adult ducks will bite our 3 ducklings any chance they get, they are 4 weeks old now and have learned to avoid it most of the time. Mama doesn't do much protecting any more. I wouldn't know for sure in this case but I think it's just a rite of passage with ducks and ducklings the adults teaching the ducklings who's boss. I know some adults especially drakes will kill ducklings so I am always cautious when they are all together, usually my ducks just give a bite and go on. Hopefully that's all that was happening with yours too. and

Wonder what kind of training they got for the dog, No barking would have been nice.

The problem with sending the dog out for training is that the owners usually need the training more than the dog does.

I agree! It's usually a combined training with the owners and the dog, it's sort of odd that the dog was "sent out" for training.
