Okay so from the help I received from last post I assuming I have 3 tetra tints and 3 leghorns, but of course not postive! When I went to buy the chicks from tsc they told me the pullet bucket really wasnt pullets that they were the featured breed, which at the time was brahama! As you can see these chicks are not at all Brahama. So, I called to see what the featured breed was and they told me leghorn. So....the three smaller chicks looked different and you wonderful people told me they were tetra tints...which I recalled from the pullet sign on the bucket tetra tints being underlined. So, now I am thinking I must for sure have 3 tetra tint pullets; I am just not sure about three bigger chicks, which might be leghorns! I took photos of the three and I will try to keep them all straight!

Here is leghorn 1

Wow...well actually no I am not sure of anything! Matter of fact I beginning to think I know nothing at all! I am finding that I am not sure of gender, breed or age of the 6 I got! If they are cornish crosses....will they still lay eggs, that is if they are even hens?! Okay I am all ears....

they dont tend to live long they are meat birds and grow extremely fast and usually die before a year old do to heart problems because of weight

Ummm cornish rocks....I cannot even call the tsc because it was hit with a tornado last weekend. I dont recall seeing the breed there but that doesnt mean much! Okay so now I have a possible 3 cornish rock crosses that are around 4 weeks old and 3 tetra tints that are around 3 weeks old!

Any guess if they are hens or roosters?

On the three Cornish crosses. They are meat birds and need to be processes somewhere around 10-14 weeks since they grow so fast and die of health issues. If the other 3 are tetra tints then those are female since those are a type of sex link. I would look to sale the 1st 3 if you don't want to process them and get a new breed.

Schellie69,

Thank you, I am in the process of looking to were I can get them processed, considering I do not know the first step on how to do it myself! I am also trying to figure out the age of the chicks as well. I did just find out though if they are indeed cornish crosses then they will have red earlobes. At what age do earlobes develop?

The tetra tints or what I believe are tetra tints, I will take better pictures of them and post later. I am intrigued though, how are they sex link?
