ive had an egg that looks like that but with no hole. chickens lay that weird egg as a lack of sunlight,calcium, or molting. but mine have never had a hole.

Shell gland glitch, hopefully you don't see it again.

Exactly! And older hens are likely to develop overly large and weird eggs. Then, stress, poor diet, and illness will be involved.
We get eggs like this sometimes, having older hens.
