I have 2 big male dogs. 1 is old, grew up with female dogs only, and still learned to lift his leg just before a year old. He squats about half the time and lifts the rest. He has poor aim though, LOL. My other younger boy does either or as well........he lifts more often than not though.
i have a tiny toy poodle who squats but lifts one leg when she squats. It looks hilarious.
when i worked at a shelter, we found a little chihuahua who would do a handstand to pee. he had a nice yeast infection on his belly from constantly peeing on himself and staying wet. The rescue that took him videotaped the antic and sent it to us laughing. Funny little dog.
