I know this has got to be according to where ya'll live, but who is going to be hatching or breeding all year long? Keeping my options open, as I may have some teachers interested in hatching eggs for their classrooms. Course anyting they hatch goes to me!

I pretty much hatch year round. This is my first year I took a break, but plugging the bators back in tomorrow.

Our breeders are separated into their own coops year round as well. Feel free to check out our web site link on the left. We raise the following on our farm:

Standard Buff Orpington
Easter Eggers
Araucana (tufted/rumpless)

Bantam Bearded Buff silkies
Bantam Buff Ameraucana

We have also teamed up with another breeder who also has the following:
Bantam Tournaisis
Standard Rhode Island Red

Guilty as charged.
I've been hatching chicks weekly for almost 2 years.
If the hens are laying, I see no reason not to hatch at least a few of their eggs every week

I don't maintain all those individual pens for no reason.
"Bantam Tournaisis"
That's 2 breeds you've come up with that I've never heard of. The other was Percheron-ish .
That's just cool

Since I only got 1 lonely chick from my first hatch and I have a new bator thats so far staying steady at 100 - 100.5 degrees I put 9 of my RIR eggs in again this morning. But that will probably be it unless a friend wants some hatched.

Last year I hatched all except for about a 6 week period during the winter. I am going to seperate the roosters and hens in about two weeks and let everyone rest while the molt is going on and see how I feel later on. I expect to hatch some out in February for sure.
