Hi, suggestions welcome. I've searched the web, only to be more unsure as to how to treat this. One of my day old Marans is walking on her hocks. Inner toe is almost hammer-toed and she will not stand straight up. She gets around on her hocks, eating and drinking. She's probably only stressed out because I'm not sure how to proceed and am trying boots first. The poor thing.

PS. Don't judge the newspaper, this was before I put down papertowels. She was walking on her hocks, not spreading her toes within the shipping container as well.

I know nothing about the things that can afflict chickens, but I know that vitamins won't hurt. If you can get some mixed in with their water, and you can get the chick to drink, at least that might help get it standing.

Poultry Vitamins should be given in the water right away. It sounds possibly like riboflavin/vitamin B2 deficiency. The quicker it is treated, the more successful it is.
