curled toes with dry hatch

I tried out dry hatching for my french black copper marans and got a 100% hatch (yay), but two of them have curled toes. I believe I raised the humidity correctly. Has anyone else had this issue with dry hatching?

The one has both, the other only has one. I supplement my hens, would giving more help stop this

It might. I'd also brace the feet. Are you familiar with the site "poultry podiatry?"

Another cause for curled toes can be from the surface of your incubator/brooder. If it is too slick, the chicks won't be able to get a grip, which can cause splayed legs and toes. Bracing will take care of this, while if it is a riboflavin deficiency, they will need supplements. I would add some vitamins to their diet/water. I would do both, and quickly, as the changes can set and the chicks can be permanently crippled. I wish you luck! Let us know how it works out

Thanks for your reply Even with splinting and an easy surface for it to walk one, the one that both feet were curled had to be killed. He simply just couldn't move around and I did not have the means to constantly be bringing him to food/water. The other one with only one foot drowned in the water, I have never had this happen! I even had large pebbles in it to keep that from happening
