Curled toes

My one quail hatched a few hours ago and it's toes are still curled up, is there anything I can do? Will they eventually uncurl themselves?

Yes they should. Do they look like this? They usually uncurl in a couple days. Sometimes they just get a bit squished in that tiny egg.

Ya they do, it had a hard time getting out of the shell, the shell broke but it was stuck in that membrane for awhile and it was drying up on it so I ended up helping it out. I wasn't sure if there was just something wrong with it because all the others seemed to uncurl a while ago

And thank you, I've been on here since last summer I want to say, when I got chickens. Im just starting with the quails and this is my first time incubating eggs. I don't know if this quarenteen is good it bad for me right now because I can't stop checking on them constantly

It sounds like it was just stuck strangely for a little while. I'm guessing they'll uncurl pretty soon. Is it walking yet at all?

I just noticed that, lol. You've been on here longer than me What kind of quail are they? I have the incubating addiction for sure, I'm definitely a certified hatchaholic. I wouldn't change it for the world though. It gets me every time, when I candle on day 5 and see those little hearts beating in there. I sleep right on the floor next to my incubator from lockdown until the last one hatches. I just realized that sounds strange, I don't sleep the whole time of course, lol

It's been walking just on top of it's feet since they are so curled up and still are the poor thing. Those are rosetta and gold Italian coturnix, and I have 5 week old bobwhites that I got as chicks. I have 4 chicken eggs in there also from my chickens, I just couldn't help myself and wanted to see what would happen. One hatched, I'm hoping the other 3 hatch today, my chick sounds so lonely. I was really curious to see what the chickens would look like because I have 1 rooster and 5 different breeds of hens. That's something I would do, I've gotten up from bed to check on everything. What do you have?

Wha do you mean by "what do you have?" Like breeds of birds? Sorry lol. I wonder if maybe you should make some shoes for the little thing to help it out. If you search for "curled toes chick shoes" there are some good sites online. I can't paste the links for some reason.

Yes I meant what breeds. I did see that about the shoes. I was worried since it was so so small though if it would work for a quail. I messaged My Shire farm where I your then from and asked if I could do anything and they said no. My chicken hatched Sunday morning and I had 7 quails hatch yesterday, they started hatching Saturday. And then nothing yesterday, how long do I wait before I give up on the rest of the eggs?
