I have done a search but I can't find anything that works for me. I will try to explain as best I can, until I can get a picture on. It's a young quail about 2-3 days old (can't be certain).
1) What type of bird , age and weight. Coturnix Quail, 2-3 days, normal weight for a quail
2) What is the behavior, exactly. Curled up toes. Legs slightly to the side and struggling to walk.
3) Is there any bleeding, injury, broken bones or other sign of trauma. No
4) What happened, if anything that you know of, that may have caused the situation. Genetic? Young age?
5) What has the bird been eating and drinking, if at all. Chick crumbs, ground up cat biscuits and fresh water.
6) How does the poop look? Normal? Bloody? Runny? etc. Normal
7) What has been the treatment you have administered so far? Boots, but had to be removed as it caused it to fallover more often
8 ) What is your intent as far as treatment? For example, do you want to treat completely yourself, or do you need help in stabilizing the bird til you can get to a vet? I would like to treat it myself
9) If you have a picture of the wound or condition, please post it. It may help. A picture will be posted when possible
10) Describe the housing/bedding in use Newspaper as an underlay and tissue over that to prevent mess and also to keep them OFF the newspaper, which I know causes splayed leg.

Thank you for any advice or treatment

Curled toe paralysis is due to a riboflavin deficiency in breeder stock.

Crooked toes are due to vitamine E deficiencies.

Try a vitamin supplement in the water (poly vi sol baby vitamins work well) and see if that helps.

I also know with gamebirds, curled toes can occur due to improper incubation/humidity or genetics factors. So, if the vitamins don't help, those are the other considerations.

Thank you, all the others were fine, but some were incubated under a hen and other with an incubator. The others have no feet problems whatsoever

ETA: Once I find something I will begin treatment, thanks. Also, could I just give it something which contains lots of vitamin E?
