My son's critique: "The Dawn of the Planet of the Apes," was surprisingly good, lots of strong conflict and tension. There were so many ways they could have easily screwed up that movie, but didn't."

"I keep hearing things about that Guardians movie from too many people, guess I will have to see it."

Just got home from seeing- "Sin City 2- A Dame to Kill For." If you liked Sin City 1 from 9 years ago, you will like this one. I loved them both. This is definitely NOT a movie for everyone.

Over the top graphic violence -more humorous than appalling, frontal and backal nudity, drugs, gambling, revenge . The BIG thing Sin City has going for it is I bonded with the bad-good guys and girls and really cared about what happened to them.

I think it would be good for interested souls to rent Sin City 1 -as a prelude to main characters from the original who also inhabit Sin City 2., Either movie can stand alone but, if you have the stomach for the first one, the second is every bit as good.

The movie is what it is, and I give it 4 stars. I hope a Sin City 3 will be in the works.

Saw Guardians today, the 3D version. I gave it a 9 on imdb. I thought it was really funny, didn't take itself too seriously, and the effects were made nicely. The story was good too, or at least it carried the action well. Everyone in the theater were laughing all the time, that raccoon sure is funny.

Sin City 2 is definitely on the watchlist.

Just popping in to say I just saw Guardians a second time having coaxed my brother to come along. He really enjoyed it but, not as much as I did We both love Groot. I am hoping they will come out with the character toys at Xmas, I hope to find a dancing Groot - I can think of 2 people besides me that would love to have one.

If the movies are crummy Friday I just may see it a third time. I have quite a need for 'feel good' movies.

Couldn't indulge my movie watching if I had to pay premium for 3D and our show boasts of
Imax -3D- even tho it is not really Imax.

I go to showings starting before noon when the tickets are $.6.50. I also need shows over by 2:30 pm to ride the senior bus otherwise it's a 5.5 mile walk home during rush hour/ no sidewalks 3/4 of the trip.

Yeah, they truly rob you on the ticket prices. I think we paid 31 euros for 2 tickets to the 3D version, this was the 9pm Saturday night viewing though. If you go to see it a third time, you should consider the 3D version to mix things up a bit though. Once in a while won't kill your movie budget.

Five and a half miles sounds perfect for bicycling.

I saw a trailer for that on TV, looked like something I'm going to enjoy. It had a similar feel as Chocolat, A Good Year, or The best exotic Marigold Hotel. I really like Helen Mirren, but I have to be careful not to build up too much expectations for the movie.
