Current Movies - Thumbs UP or Thumbs DOWN

I've seen a couple as of late:

The banshees of inishirin. Great even if you don't know much about the war of Ireland v. England. Still enjoyable and entertaining

Smile. Awful. Follows the premise of "the ring" but has mostly insignificant dialogue. Literally took me three nights and sheer will to finish it.

Everything everywhere all at once. The multiverse on acid. Amazing and highly inappropriate. Extremely odd and curious. Very creative and unique. Loved it

Thanks for the reviews!

Smile was not a good movie for sure. The Banshees of Inisherin is in my watch list. I hope to get to seeing it on Friday.

I'm interested to see your feelings about 'Banshees'. I loved it - the Princess not so much.

Well it is hard to kinda accept that someone "just doesn't like you anymore"...ghosting people is so uncool. I personally don't know anything about the war but I found the relationship and characters entertaining. Next on my list is Three Thousand Years of Longing.

Omg I know it's older but just saw sinister...not sure I'll be able to sleep restfully tonight. That movie is seriously scary and without using gore. Somebody hold me 😭

It is a very good movie! There are many levels to it and I would have to watch it again to catch more of it but it's major theme is the Irish civil war and the characters represent the different factions of that war: The police man is the English, the two friends are the two side in the war. The Sister represents the Millions that have left Ireland over the past several hundred years as some examples.

Thank you for this cause I had some confusion. But what does the horny little drunk teen that likes the sister represent?
