Current Movies - Thumbs UP or Thumbs DOWN

What a shame with the' dueling Roberts', it should have been a great movie. I was sad to see it didn't get good ratings .

I am noticing Interstellar isn't sounding (from reviews) as good as I expected.. I also want to see Birdman but, my brother doesn't.! I guess you have to be married to get men to do what you (wife) want..

Well they do seem to love Nightcrawler - for the moment. But then I always remember they loved Black Swan ( I think it was called) that was one of the worst movies I ever saw.

"Nightcrawler," - I came, I saw, I reviewed . Sorry to say "Nightcrawler," didn't live up to it's hype - from my point of view. It was interesting, and creepy. Jake reportedly lost 30 lbs. for the role, giving him sunken eyes, and gaunt face.. A professional makeup job could have given the same affect without jeopardizing his health& none of us would have been the wiser.

Just another sociopath that stops at nothing to reach his goals. All I could think of,especially since it was playing in the next auditorium, was he should have hooked up with "Gone Girl." Jake is a fine actor but, this movie didn't show me anything I haven't seen many times before. He appeared very feral which added to the creepiness but, as far as losing weight for a role - Christian Bale probably has everyone beat.(even Tom Hanks).

I wanted to love this movie but, could not. I give it 2.5 stars and my brother said the same.

Maybe it was the darn theatre. They have revamped and we ended up with a swing away tray thingie and plush, recliner seats, and a call(?) button to order food (which was not in service yet). We even had to pick out reserved seats - in a very empty show, before getting our tickets. Which incidentally went up 20 cents each.. and I'm sure will be much higher in the future.

For the first few minutes the seats were nice. After that, it went downhill. I'm very short and when I sat back, my feet didn't touch the floor. Dangling in air, they fell asleep fast. When I reclined the seat somewhat my feet did manage to reach the floor. But leaving, it was difficult to rise from the plushness and I even felt dizzy standing on firm ground. I found myself yearning for an old fashioned movie theater, where attention is focused on the movie and not the furnishings.

They revamped the restooms also. Now at each sink there was an auto dispenser for soap, a tube coming from the wall that splashed water, and two side thingies like handlebars - each with blower dryers. The soap was so close to the water, after I washed my hands, it spritzed more soap on me. It took several tries to get my hands dry. The blower kept stopping without accomplishing anything. On the way out I found one little paper towel dispenser and did dry my hands. All I could think of was the waste of money that complicated the simple task of washing hands. Thank goodness the toilets held no surprises. Maybe next visit they will have revamped that.
I think I will 'go" at home rather than chance that.

Saw "Gone Girl" this weekend.
Loved the plot twists!!!!
Hated the constant f-bombs and near porn scenes.....

Also saw Guardians again - still loved it.

We had an Avengers Marathon after seeing the Ultron trailer, I had a craving for the enormous, rage monster.

Ok, I wanted to watch Loki again. *confesses*

I have no one to go to movies with right now so kinda holding off. I'm going to have so many to catch up on.
