Current Movies - Thumbs UP or Thumbs DOWN

I wouldn't even watch the "sleeping dead." Don't like being scared.

I grew up with "Twilight Zone," "One Step Beyond," and "Shock Theatre," so have a lot of residual damage.

Can't even go see Crimson Peak with one of my favorites Tom Hiddleston(Loki) unless they purge all the scary parts out of it. That would leave just the title.

Tremors 5 was bad... Its free on netflix though an worth watching if you are a tremors fan an have nothing else to do but everyone else should pass on it...

Lol wow, tremors. They just don't make movies like they used to, huh? They added The Little Giants to Amazon Prime and I was all sorts of excited to watch it again. My 10 year old actually enjoyed it as well. He typically doesn't like the older movies, lol.

Saw "Ricki and the Flash" today with the movie matinee ladies. Don't know the why's of this movie...not an Oscar contender by any means. Meh. Meryl can sing, but that's not surprising since she trained for opera at the age of 12. Anyway, it was a movie with more music than diaglogue, mainly tunes from the 70's and 80's. Rick Springfield plays her love interest and he looks pretty yummy for 65. Kevin Kline is holding his age well, too. The story is pretty one-dimensional: Woman who abandons family for the promise of a rock-and-roll lifestyle (which, sadly, includes being a lowly checker at a Whole Foods-ish store during the day) gets a chance to reconnect with her family during a crisis (involving character played by real-life daughter), discovers all she has missed, and tries to do the best she can with what she's got. Cue more music.

The background band is composed of good solid chesnuts: Joe Vitale, the late Rick Rosas, Bernie Worrell.
