Current Movies - Thumbs UP or Thumbs DOWN

Maybe but 13 Ghosts would have been fun in 3D... Actually it was 3D.. My cousin was jumping up an down like a fool in the middle of the theater an screaming obscenities at the screen... That added a 3ed dimension to it for the whole theater.

OK, so what's y'all's verdict on 3D? Aside from when I was a kid with a kaleidoscope, the only 3D (aside from real life) I've ever watched was Avatar in IMAX... I kinda enjoyed it, but it left me feeling queezy for several hours afterwards, along with a rather long lived mild headache. Pretty sure it was the combination of 3D vision with hours of pounding noise... Anyway, as a result, I will NOT buy a 3D TV and really have no interest in seeing another 3D movie...

What say you?

Edit: Apologize, there was one other time at the 3D surround vision at Disney World (LONG before IMAX). That was so real they had rails so folks wouldn't fall over. They were needed! But that was short duration and didn't affect me physically in a major negative way. (yes, I needed the rails too)

I've seen one movie as 3D, and I absolutely hated it. Waste of money, and will probably never do 3D again. My 10 year old step son is blind in his left eye (biological father, long story...) so he can't even watch 3D, as in if we're going to watch a cartoon/Disney movie in 3D.

Bought and watched San Andreas yesterday. Went back a few pages but couldn't find any other reviews.

Typical feelgood movie about family relationships damaged and then repaired through tribulation. The Rock was his usual beastly self. Mom and daughter (don't know the actresses names) were pretty hot. I watched it primarily for the special effects (earth quakes maybe?) and they didn't disappoint. Overall a pretty entertaining flick. I'll watch it again, and for $14.99 (plain old DVD, no blue ray, no 3d) it's worth it.

Waiting for Oct 20th so I can buy/watch Jurassic World. again, special effects interest.

I love end-of-the-world movies (Deep Impact, Armageddon, etc), but haven't watched San Andreas yet. Just noticed it on Amazon Prime for rent, so maybe soon. My son and I watched Jurassic World in theaters. Loved it. I've always loved dinosaurs and the original Jurassic series. Would definitely add that Jurassic World is worth seeing.

I haven't watched a 3D movie yet but I'd like to. We watched a 3D show at Disney last year, I thought it was awesome. I thought it would be 3D on the stage, nope right in our faces, my two year old kept taking his glasses off, don't know if it scared him or if he was wondering where the birds and Donald Duck and all were in front of him Lol!
There was also a '4D' toy story midway mania shooting ride at Hollywood Studios that was awesome!

Saw "Bridge of Spies" today. Neither Spielberg or Hanks disappointed - very good movie. Whoever it is who played Rudolph Abel also did an exemplary job in a supporting role ! I'm curious to see your opinion, deedee.

Horror movies are the best because they make my imagination race. The best two in the last decade or so are both low budget. Not a fan of special effects and action if there is nothing cerebral going on.

Cabin Fever
House Hunting

It is in my opinion that certain movies are well done in 3D. Others aren't. Avatar for example was. I had to take the glasses off once to make sure that wasn't a real bug flying around the audience.
Others make the movie all about the 3D and ruin it with things popping out at you and what not and no real good plot.
So it all depends on how well it is done. Just like any other aspect of a movie.
