Current Movies - Thumbs UP or Thumbs DOWN

Finally got to see "The Magnificent Seven". Not exactly my cup of tea, but I give it a 2.5 on the movie and a 4 on the scenery. If you are a fan of westerns, it is well worth seeing.

Definitely a must see for me then, but I'll have to wait, drive in is done for the yr and we don't go to theaters much unless it's kid movies.
I just watched, I know it's old now, 'django unchained' on netflix recently, got some horrible reviews from people I guess don't like Jamie Fox?? Don't know who he is really, don't care, was one of the absolute best spaghetti style (definitely spaghetti style, love how they played in the old theme!) westerns I've ever saw, rate it right up there with any of the greats! Not as good as a serious historical western, but dang it was good!

Beer Can, I just finished watching Django Unchained - really, really good western. Enjoyed it very much. Quentin Tarratino always makes such gory movies- so didn't shock me.

Glad you liked it, I thought it was a awesome movie. Thought it might be a bit much in the blood and gore department for you, but it was done up more like a silly spaghetti western as far as the violence. I hope he does another one.

Rented "The Nice Guys" on DVD. Wow! So very, very, very different from its movie trailer. It was actually an enjoyable madcap film and very entertaining. Russell Crow and Ryan Gosling, set in the 1970's Los Angeles. Definitely zany.... unlike the detective thug movie it was set up to be on previews.

Watched "Florence Foster Jenkins" today. Refreshing! No explosions, car chases or bullets or violence, just a sweet straight-forward tale set in 1940's NYC. Hugh Grant, Meryl Streep and the guy that plays Howard on "The Big Bang Theory," the latter who stole the show. The singing was autrocious (as it was meant to be) and reminiscent of someone slowly drowning a parrot....the audience was in hoots with laughter, both in the movie and in the theater. The costuming was fabulous. Made one wish they had seen Florence in real life.

My brother and I saw "Nice Guys," when it first came out. I had seen Ryan Gosling is several movies before then but, he was new to my brother.. I was surprised and delighted that my brother actually thought he was great in the movie. Ryan was also very good in "Crazy Stupid love,".

I have to admit though after I saw him in "Drive." which is a horrifically violent, blood splatter movie - I never wanted to see him in another of that ilk.

Sour I've heard it is very good but, I dislike MR.Affleck - every role he plays seems the same - a basic smug, so and so. Now that he is directing himself in movies - forget it.
