Cushion Comb Genetics

I have read through this blog entry (and sent a follow-up message to The Chicken Lady -- no response) and am left uncertain about the genetics of the cushion comb.

Can anyone explain the genetics of the cushion comb?

I'm guessing that the cushion comb is some form of the walnut comb (perhaps smooth), but it's just that, a guess.

That is my guess. There are a number of comb modifying genes that have not been well documented.
